Supervise the identification and development of the general objectives of the General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta and its affiliated organizational units; clarify the Islamic legal provisions for the people; issue legal fatwas related to public matters; preside and lead the work of the Council of Senior Scholars and hold its periodic sessions; hold the Council of Senior Scholars’ and the Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta’s periodic sessions; Provide advice and counselling to those charged with authority regarding decision-making and policy-making in consistence with the tolerant provisions of the Islamic Sharia and the Kingdom's directions.
