213201 - Agricultural Engineer
Study the features and components of land and soil; prepare the designs and outlines of the irrigation and agricultural drainage networks; follow up their installation; identify the agricultural machinery appropriate to the performance of agricultural works; and develop their utilizations. Prepare the specialized documents and reports related to work outcomes.
Main Tasks:
Study the physical and chemical features of agricultural soil; study the components of the soil; follow up the examination of samples taken from the plants, soil and irrigation water; analyze the results of the examination; study and test the appropriate types of fertilizers; and assess how plants respond to them.
Study the irrigation systems; select the most appropriate of them, such as surface irrigation, sprinkling, center pivot irrigation or localized irrigation; design the outlines and networks of irrigation and agricultural drainage; follow up the installment procedures; and assess and promote the efficiency of irrigation systems.
Determine the appropriate agricultural machinery, such as the machines of plowing, planting, spraying, harvesting, grinding and grain mixing; prepare the operation and maintenance programs; and ensure their readiness.
Develop the work methods and procedures; and keep up with the technical developments.
Prepare, present, clarify, and keep on the relevant database, the specialized documents and reports, as per the approved policies and procedures.
