214603 - Oil and Gas Engineer Analyze the technical factors and elements of cost for planning the methods of extracting the maximum quantity of oil from oil fields; develop plans for well drilling; solve the technical issues during the drilling; and prepare the specialized documents and reports related to work outcomes.
Main Tasks:
Study the maps of oil reserves sites; recommend locations for well drilling to maximize the economic return from extracting; and assess the potential well productivity.
Develop the well drilling plans for obtaining an approval from the concerned department, describing the drilling time, the number of special processes, such as directional drilling, examination, requirements of materials and cost including well casing and drilling muds.
Provide the advice during drilling for solving problems, such as: the change in drilling direction, holes, drilling rate and water flow into the well hole; and check the well in terms of casing and pipe installation accuracy.
Develop the work methods and procedures; and keep up with the technical developments.
Prepare, present, clarify, and keep on the relevant database, the specialized documents and reports related to engineering projects and works, as well as their progress ratio, as per the adopted policies and procedures.
