225002 - Veterinary Epidemiologist
Study the factors that affect the presence and spreading of diseases among animals, especially those transmitted to humans; study the cases of infection and find the solutions; and provide the advise on preventive measures.
Main Tasks:
Prepare and implement studies to investigate animal diseases; and study the methods of prevention, treatment and transmission of diseases to humans.
Investigate the cases of animal parasitic infections to determine the causes, risk factors, stages of development, life cycle or mode of transmission; and identify the necessary methods for resolving the disease conditions.
Develop the preventive measures; provide advise on the implementation of these measures; and educate the farmers on animal disease prevention and management.
Collaborate with other experts to identify new diseases and prevent their spread; and inform the health agencies and officials of infectious disease cases.
Prepare the documents and reports related to veterinary epidemiology and keep them on their relevant database, as per the regulating policies and procedures; ensure the application of principles and rules of public safety during the conduct of veterinary epidemiology work.
