Study the manuscripts; identify methods of maintaining them from wear and harmful insects; identify methods for keeping, protecting, presenting, restoring manuscripts; and prepare, present and keep the specialized documents and reports related to the manuscripts restoration field.
Main Tasks:
Study the specialized experiences and practices of manuscripts restoration and the possibility of utilization; and recommend applying modern methods in the restoration process.
Study and research different methods to maintain, restore and protect the manuscripts from wear factors and harmful insects using chemicals or methods of conservation, natural and artificial protection; and clean the manuscripts using cleaning and drying tools.
Photocopy and document the manuscripts using microfilms or computer; and identify manuscripts preservation methods that avoid damage and loss.
Identify the methods and procedures of manuscripts restoration using the latest scientific and technological developments in the manuscripts restoration field.
Prepare, and maintain on their corresponding database, the specialized documents and report on manuscripts restoration, as per the adopted policies and procedures.
