321101 - Therapeutic Radiologic Technologist
Use high-energy radiation technology to control and treat cancerous tumors as prescribed by radiologists, oncologists or other health care professionals.
Main Tasks:
Prepare patients; explain procedures; adjust patients' bodies position according to treatment correct method.
Assist patients to understand potential side effects of radiation therapy, and to place retaining and protective devices as well as other similar requirements.
Review prescriptions prescribed by healthcare professionals to determine the type of required treatment; calibrate and adjust equipment accordingly.
Direct prescribed radiation doses to specific organs; give therapeutic radiation doses to treat cancer growth; monitor devices’ performance and patient's condition during treatment, and adjust devices as required.
Assist physicians in determination of treatment effectiveness, and re-evaluation of treatment plans.
