A clarification about what was published in Riyadh newspaper " Female employed Saudis have more divorce rates than unemployed"
According to what was published in Riyadh newspaper on 22 Rabe'a First 1438 H " Female employed Saudis have more divorce rates than unemployed" which is based on labor force survey report, third quarter of 2016 that is issued by GaStat periodically. The published news indicated that woman employment is one of the divorce causes in Saudi Arabia according to GaStat.
Therefore, Taiseer Almufarij, GaStat spokesman, clarified that what was published represents the newspaper itself, it is just a personal effort of the journalists who worked on this news. The published report by GaStat did not mention that woman employment is one of the divorce causes.
He asserted that GaStat, according to ministers cabinet resolution number (11) in 31/01/1437 H, is the only reference of statistics and information in Saudi Arabia, and that statistical data analysis is not one of GaStat tasks and responsibilities.
