Based on Saudi Youth Development’s Survey, 2019:

GASTAT: (98.43%) of Saudi Youth on Social Networking Sites

 

GASTAT released the results of “Saudi Youth Development’s Survey, 2019” on its official websites www.stats.gov.sa . on Friday 01/05/1441H corresponding to 27/12/2019.

The survey was implemented in the 2nd quarter of 2019, and it aims to provide a number of key indicators on youth population from social, demographic and economic aspects. The survey sheds light on the obstacles and challenges faced by the youth and discusses their needs as well. It also aims to extract a number of indicators and measures in addition to some other detailed data on educational, economic and occupational status. The survey also discusses youth’s social participation as well as youth’s knowledge of first aid basics, home and traffic safety. 

Moreover, the survey showed that the percentage of Saudi population in the age group (15-34) years old was (36.70%) out of total population, (51.03%) of them are males, while (48.97%) are females. The survey’s results indicated that the percentage of youth who faced obstacles during their learning journey was (31.75%), (31.86%) of them are males and (31.64%) are females.

On the other hand, percentage of youth who are satisfied with their current jobs reached (23.54%) , (23.90%) of them are males and (21.85%) of them are females. Percentage of youth who faced obstacles with their current/previous jobs was (45.88%), (45.33%) of them are males and (48.53%) are females, results showed.

Additionally, results indicated that the percentage of self-employed youth who benefited from the support programs provided by financial institutions reached (55.13%). On the other hand, the percentage of youth who have sufficient monthly income that cover their financial obligations reached (68.91%), (69.59%) of them are males and (70.48%) of them represented females. The percentage of youth who save some of their monthly income reached (44.71%), where males are represented by (43.62%) and (50.19%) are females.

Survey’s results also showed that the percentage of youth on social networking sites reached (98.43%), where males are represented by (98.63%) and (98.22%) for females. The percentage of youth who were affected by social networks reached (35.83%), (36.81%) represents males and (34.80%) represents females. On the other hand, percentage of youth who have basis knowledge of first aids represent (19.21%), where males represent (23.17%) and females represent (15.09%).

Finally, the survey showed that the percentage of Saudi population in the age group (0-34) years old hit (67.02%).
