The survey aims at providing new and updated indicators on the pilgrims through the following: 

1. Creating a data base of the pilgrims from Saudi Arabia participates in realizing the Saudi Vision 2030 alongside the data base of the Umrah pilgrims from outside Saudi Arabia.
2. Measuring the total number of pilgrims annually through adding the number of Umrah pilgrims from outside Saudi Arabia to the number of pilgrims from outside the kingdom.
3. This aids the involved bodies in determining the labor force and the required utilities for the service of pilgrims to ensure their safety and comfortability.
4. It meets the governmental requirements concerning the basic data of the numbers and characteristics of the Umrah pilgrims from Saudi Arabia which is required for formulating developmental plans.
